Concrete Overlays

Concrete Overlays are an excellent paving solution for extending the life of a highway or road. It enables us to take advantage of the investment/equity already made in the existing roadway. By putting a concrete layer on top of the existing roadway, we are looking towards sustainability, it can be designed to last for anywhere from 5-40 years. The video below gives a quick overview on overlays.
Concrete can be used over a concrete road or an asphalt road. The two main questions to ask are – What is the current condition of the road; and second, what is the desired service life of the concrete overlay.

The ACPA supports communities and states by helping assess and develop an effective road network build and maintain plan. To learn more about overlays, select a button below. You’ll be taken to a resource or asked to provide some simple information to download a publication.
